In the 1960s, Mr. Marsh, deeply influenced by the jazz and Ivy League look of the time, encountered Kamakura Shirts fifty years later in 2012. The meticulously crafted Kamakura Shirts’ Oxford button-downs evoked memories of the Ivy League style of that era. Since that encounter, Mr. Marsh has been consistently designing new pieces every year, and we have been committed to creating products that meet the expectations of those who look forward to Mr. Marsh and the VINTAGY IVY COLLECTION.

This needlecord shirt uses high-quality domestically produced corduroy fabric. The weaving, dyeing, and finishing of the fabric are all done in the Enshu region, where 95% of domestically produced corduroy is manufactured.

Instead of using rollers, the fabric is dyed using a washing machine. This method allows us to create high-quality fabric without crushing the ridges. Furthermore, a unique finishing process is employed, where the fabric’s pile is singed and then moistened with water before being raised, resulting in a soft texture and unique Japanese appearance.
